Ismaily SC have announced that Ghanaian defender Richard Baffour has officially joined the club from Ghanaian side Bechem United FC.
This is Ismaily’s sixth signing of the January transfer window after deals for Colombian striker Diego Calderon, Nader Ramadan, Dakhelya’s Islam Abdelnaim to support the squad.
The player is supposed to be registered instead of Ghana’s Emmanuel Banahene, who left Ismaily heading to Ghana, after the club has failed to fulfill their contractual obligations towards him, with the player going months without pay. The Ghanaian could also be registered instead of Torric Jebrin who was loaned to Saudi side Al-Wehda.
The Ismailia-based club is currently at the ninth place in the Egyptian Premier League, earning 22 points from 17 matches, winning only four games, losing three and drawing 10.
It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) handed the club a transfer ban stopping Ismaily from registering new players after failing to pay late financial dues.
