Black Stars No.1 goalkeeper Richard Ofori played his first game for Orlando Pirates in their 1-1 drawn game against Stellenbosch in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The 26-year-old shot-stopper sealed a three-year move to the Buccaneers last week from Maritzburg United after helping the Team of Choice to achieve success over the years.
Pirates took the lead in the 32nd minute through Ntsiekelelo Nyauzu before Nathan Sinkala restored parity for the visitors ten minutes later.
The Zambian international calmly met a cross by teammate Jayden Adams and Ofori could not do anything to prevent the ball from entering the net.
The Ghanaian international, however, pulled a good save for Pirates to save them from going down in the game on the stroke of half time as he stopped Du Pereez’s shot from entering the goalpost.
Ofori arrived in the South African Premier Soccer League in 2017to sign for Maritzburg United from Wa All Stars, now know as Legon Cities FC in 2017.
During his stay at the club, he made 29 clean sheets in 85 league games.
