Ghanaian teenage goalkeeper Rockson Amedeka has taken a major step in his career after signing his first professional contract with American club Sarasota Paradise.
The 18-year-old shot-stopper joins the United States outfit on a multi-year deal after progressing through the ranks of the renowned Right to Dream Academy in Accra, widely regarded as one of the world’s top football development institutions.
Standing at 6’3”, Amedeka is regarded as a modern goalkeeper with strong distribution skills and calmness in possession. His consistent displays at academy level also earned him opportunities to train with the Ghana U20 national team during national team camps.
Founder and chief executive of Sarasota Paradise, Marcus Walfridson, said the signing reflects the club’s commitment to identifying and nurturing promising talents from around the world.
“Rockson’s journey from Ghana to Sarasota at just 18 years old is an incredible story and a testament to the global reach of this club,” Walfridson said.
Amedeka expressed his excitement about the move, describing it as a valuable opportunity to continue his development and grow in the professional game.
During his time at Right to Dream Academy, the young goalkeeper trained in a highly competitive environment, facing elite European academy teams including Villarreal CF, Valencia CF, and Feyenoord.
