Black Stars assistant Coach Maxwell Konadu admits Ghana has slim chances of qualifying for the Russia 2018 World Cup but says it won’t be impossible for the Black Stars to also secure qualification to the global showpiece.
According to him, Ghana has had a rough start to the qualifying campaign having recorded just a point in two opening matches.
The Black Stars were held in a goalless drawn game against Uganda in Ghana before losing 2-0 to Egypt in Alexandria.
Speaking on Kumasi based Nhyira FM, Konadu said ”Qualifying for the 2018 World Cup is difficult but it is not impossible”.
He added ”Looking at where we find ourselves today we’re at a very tight corner but nothing is impossible. We think with the materials we have at our disposal we can still qualify if we put things in other and work hard”.
”Honestly it’s difficult for us to qualify but nothing is impossible” Maxwell Konadu concluded.
Ghana host Congo on Friday September 1 in their third phase of the qualifiers at the Kumasi Baba Yara stadium before flying to Congo four days later for the reverse encounter.
