Ex-Asante Kotoko forward, Opoku Nti has advised Hearts of Oak to stick to Samuel Boadu as he feels relieving him of his duties as the head coach will be a great mistake that the club will make.
Boadu has been under immense pressure following the Phobians poor start to the Ghana Premier League title defence. Hearts are without a win in their opening four games in the Ghanaian top-flight – drawing three and losing the other.
His performances in the dugouts have raised a bit of discussion among some section of Hearts fans, who are already doubting the continuity of Boadu.
However, Nti believes the former Medeama SC is capable of turning things around for the current Premier League champions.
Speaking to Akoma FM, Opoku Nti said: “It will be a great mistake for Hearts to release their coach. It will a great mistake.”
“If a team goes to the [CAF] Champions League and unfortunately they couldn’t make it, sometimes it affects the players as individuals. I believe the whole fraternity of Hearts – the management and the technical team has to sit the boys down and talk to them.
“They should stay focused and forget what has happened and move on.”
Hearts are up against Berekum Chelsea in their next league game before playing JS Saoura in the playoffs of the Confederations Cup.
