Vision FC is in mourning following the death of their former captain, Habib Ganiu, who sadly passed away today.
Ganiu, a respected and influential figure in the club’s recent history, played a pivotal role in Vision FC’s historic qualification to the Ghana Premier League for the 2024/25 season. As captain, he led the team with determination, discipline, and heart, earning admiration from teammates, coaches, and fans alike.
The club confirmed his passing in a statement on Tuesday, describing him as “a leader on and off the pitch whose legacy will remain part of the club’s story.”
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of our former captain, Habib Ganiu. He was an inspiration to everyone at Vision FC and a key figure in our journey to the Premier League. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time,” the statement read.
Though he was not part of the active squad during the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, Ganiu remained a cherished figure at the club and a symbol of the team’s rise to top-flight football.
