Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu has dismissed suggestions that his side was outplayed by Asante Kotoko, following a narrow 1-0 defeat in the semifinals of the MTN FA Cup.
The tightly contested fixture took place on Sunday at the TNA Park, where Albert Amoah’s 82nd-minute strike proved decisive, sending the Porcupine Warriors into the final.
Despite the result, Boadu—who previously won the FA Cup twice with Hearts of Oak—remained firm in his belief that Kotoko’s performance was not superior.
“They [Asante Kotoko] did not do anything better than my team. They scored us,” he said after the final whistle.
He further explained that the difference came down to converting chances:
“Goalscoring is an opportunity. We got it, and we did not score, but they got it and they scored.”
With the win, Asante Kotoko have booked their spot in the final, where they will take on lower-tier side Golden Kick on June 15 at the University of Ghana Stadium.
