Samuel Ottoo of Asokwa Deportivo SC has peaked at the right time for his team in the 2020-21 Ghana Division One League Zone Two.
The former West Ham and Black Starlets (U-17) shot stopper has been a pivot and a consistent performer for the Asokwa-based Division One team with some top level goalkeeping in the second tier league in the country.
Ottoo has been in the goal post in ten games this season despite injuries and has been a delight to watch throughout the games he’s kept the goal post for the Allah is Great Boys in this year’s league campaign.
After conceding seven goals in his first seven league games in the Division One League, Ottoo picked up an unfortunate injury and missed subsequent games on the sidelines.
The 28-year-old Ghanaian shot stopper has kept three straight clean sheets in the Division One League helping his side to secure one vital win over leaders Bibiani Gold Stars FC at home and two draws against Wassaman United and BYF Academy FC on the road.
After his stellar performances in those games, the experienced goalkeeper has won two Man-Of-The-Match awards out of his last three matches.
Ottoo was in post for the Blue, Yellow and Whites lads when they defeated Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC in last year’s FA Cup game at Obuasi and provided a masterclass performance in his side’s 2-1 on the day.
The shot stopper has been the first choice goalkeeper for the club in the last four years after joining the club after he left West Ham FC four years ago.
With his two Most Valuable Player awards, Ottoo has become the goalkeeper with most Man-Of-The-Match awards this season in the Zone Two of the 2020-21 Ghana Division One League.
