Senegal national team head coach Aliou Cisse is sad following the ruling out of his star player Sadio Mane from the 2022 World Cup.
The second best player in the World could not recover early from an injury he sustained whiles playing for his club Bayern Munich and he is now out of the tournament.
“We feel sorry for Mané. Beyond the needs of the team, the first thing he counts is his health. We cannot hide the importance of him in this team. Each coach builds a team around his best player and we want him to return in better condition to continue doing his job well ”. Cisse stated in the Presser ahead of Monday’s game with Netherlands.
“On the other hand, there is a group that has experienced and young players ready for the challenge. So I think our collective is good. We have already played games without Sadio Mané, even if they were not of the same caliber as against the Netherlands. our state of mind.”
Senegal who boast of two wins and one draw against European nations in the Group stage of the World Cup will face Netherlands at the Al Thumama Stadium on Monday, November 21.
