Sensational Ghanaian kid Abdul Fatawu Issahaku won the Discovery of the Year Award at the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards on Friday night in Accra.
The 17-year-old Ghanaian forward has been a revelation so far since 2020 but shot to fame in 2021.
He was a pivot and a key player and played a big role in Ghana’s triumph at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in March this year in Mauritania.
Fatawu Issahaku, deservedly earned a place in the Black Stars team during Charles Kwabla Akonnor’s era as coach.
The youngster however had to wait for a while to make his debut against Zimbabwe under new Coach Milovan Rajevac.
Fatawu has scored six goals in eight matches for Dreams FC this season in his debut Ghana Premier League season.
SWAG rewarded the youngster with the Discovery of the Year Award for 2021 after buzzing into stardom with his brilliant and impressive performance.
The impressive left-footed tricky winger is expected to make the Black Stars squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
