Serbian tactician Milovan Rajevac is ahead of all the aspiring candidates for the vacant Black Stars coaching role, Sportsworldghana.com can confirm.
The former Ghana coach is just waiting for paper works to go through before he signs his contract with Ghana Football Association as the new gaffer for the Black Stars.
Sportsworldghana.com can confirm that, the governing body of Ghana Football, GFA have decided to hire the Serbian to lead Ghana throughout the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
He will also lead the four-time AFCON champions to the next competition in Cameroon next year as the West African giant aims to end their 40-year wait for the covetous trophy.
In 2010, Milovan Rajevac led Ghana to the final of the AFCON tou ist for the first time since 1992 but the Black Stars lost 1-0 to the Pharaoh’s of Egypt in Angolan.
Ghana’s best tournament at the world stage was achieved under his watch when Ghana reached the Quarter finals in South Africa and eventually losing on penalties to his two-time champions after Star player Asamoah Gyan missed a golden opportunity to send Ghana through with a 120th minute penalty miss.
After the sacking of CK Akonnor, a lot of names popped up for the Ghana job including two-time AFCON winning coach Harve Renard, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach former coach Lucien Favre among others but Milovan remain the prepared choice of the Ghana FA.
He is expected to be announced as the new Ghana coach in the coming hours or by the close to the week.
