Former Asante Kotoko forward Shilla Alhassan is among the favourites to fill in the vacant assistant job’s position at Kumasi Asante Kotoko following Michael Osei’s departure.
Kotoko on Wednesday handed a letter of demotion to Michael Osei who has been at the club as an assistant coach for over four years informing him of management’s decision to demote him to work with the junior team of the club.
The decision we understand was informed by the new head coach Zdravco Lugarusic’s words to the management stating “I can’t work with Michael” The new coach is considering Shilla and Godwin Ablordey who are all former players of the club to be behind him to form his backroom staff.
The announcement is expected to be made by the club this week.
Alhassan was spotted at the Baba Yara Sports stadium with the new Kotoko coach on sunday when Kotoko beat King Faisal 2-0 in a friendly game.
