Former Bafana Bafana Head Coach Molefi Ntseki shockingly got to know he has been fired through social media.
SAFA announced the sacking of Ntseki in a press conference on Wednesday following the national team’s failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Ntseki’s manager Thato Matuka of Brand Arc Sports Management, who negotiated the former South Africa Under-17 coach’s contract with SAFA, says no official communique was sent to him or his client regarding the contract termination.
“I only saw it on social media. I had couple of meetings this morning and when I came out I saw the news trending on Twitter and there is nothing on my email,” Matuka told KickOff.com.
“There is no communique that has come from SAFA about his sacking. As an agency that is officially working with SAFA when Mr Ntseki signed the contract, there has not been any communique to myself and the coach.”
SAFA CEO Tebogo Motlanthe told the media during the midday press conference that the decision to remove Ntseki was only taken at around 10h00, two hours before the news was announced.
Meanwhile, AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy has since emerged as a favourite around the local football fraternity to take over ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.
