Black Stars head coach, CK Akonnor, says he will not hesitate to crack the whip on Black Stars players who do not respect time.
Akonnor, 46, was appointed head coach of the senior national team in January 2020 to replace country man Kwasi Appiah whose contract expired on 31st December, 2019.
The ex-Wolfsburg and Ghana captain, who agreed a 2-year deal worth $25,000 a month, comes with his own set of rules, one of them being a demand for all his players to be on time all the time.
The coronavirus pandemic outbreak has delayed Akonnor’s first game for the team with AFCON qualifying matches against Sudan, scheduled for last March, postponed.
“Yes, I am a disciplined person. My time, I don’t joke with it. When we agree 5 and you show up at 6 then it’s a problem and I won’t shy away from letting you know.
“People tend to view that as quick temper and arrogance,” Akonnor told TV3.
