Chief Executive Officer of Simba SC Senzo Mazingisa has revealed that discussions with former Asante Kotoko striker Songné Yacouba has been put on hold.
According to him, negotiation between the two parties, has been put on hold due to lack of transparency from the player’s camp.
Yacouba was a star performer for Asante Kotoko after joining from The former Etoile Filante de Ouagadougou in 2018.
But the player has become a free agent after failing to extend his contract with the Porcupine Warriors.
Reports cliam that the 28-year-old is heading to Tanzania after giants Simba SC and Yanga SC expressed interest in snapping him up.
According to Mazingisa, Simba SC are looking to strengthen their squad by signing four quality players.
However, Simba SC, who were the first club to make contact with Yacouba, have temporarily put negotiations on hold after they were approached by several agents claiming to be the player’s only representative.
“The player has approached us with so many agents each claiming he is the only agent and that is why we have put a stop in our negotiations,” Mazingisa told Mwanaspoti.
Yacouba made seven appearances for Asante Kotoko in the 2019/20 campaign before the league was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
