Ghanaian offensive midfielder Frank Appiah, has signed a two-year contract to complete his move to FK Železiarne Podbrezová in the ongoing transfer window.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian old is a fast and technically well-equipped player. Appiah moved to Slovakia in 2020 from NADM SC to Dunajská Streda. He immediately traveled to Šamorín. So far, he has played in the second highest competition. The spent the past season at Liptovský Mikuláš where he execlelled at the club.
With eleven goals, the Ghanaian international was one of the best scorers in the competition. In the spring, he scored eight times. At the beginning of the summer training before the start of the 2024/25 season, Appiah presented himself in the jersey of Liptovský Mikuláš against Podbrezová and also scored one goal.
“We were thinking about him basically from the beginning of the transfer deadline and in the end we decided to sign him. We expect him to be a difference player, whether from the beginning or from the bench. He is very strong in one-on-one duels, which we will need when we play to the fullest. Appiah was very productive, especially in the spring part, and was one of the best in the second league. the club’s General Manager Miroslav Poliaček said.
“We expect a lot from him. He wants to play in the Nike League, he will fight for a chance. Of course, he will need a little time to get used to the team and the system. I hope that he will meet our expectations, improve and help the team achieve the set goals.” he added.
Frank Appiah now joins his country man Mark Osei Assinor, who also signed for the club in July 2023.
