A controversial member of the Ayew family- Solar Ayew has said that nobody except President Akufo-Addo can take away the Black Stars captaincy from the Al Sadd star.
According to the former Ghana International, the former Swansea City vice skipper has the best of leadership qualities and is currently the only Ghanaian player that can captain the Black Stars for glory.
He believes it will be very difficult for anyone to strip off the Black Stars captaincy from Andre Ayew due to his exceptional leadership qualities.
“It’s a pride and honour to captain your national team, and per the performance and leadership qualities of Dede [Andre] Ayew, it will take only the President of the land, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah to stripe off the captaincy from Dede Ayew. His absence will make it difficult for Ghana to beat Nigeria.”, Solar Ayew is reported to have said on Kumasi-based Light FM.
Meanwhile, Andre Ayew will not be available for the Black Stars clash with Nigeria in the playoff round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers after being shown a red card in AFCON 2021 clash against Comoros.
Ghana will host the first leg before traveling to Nigeria for the second fixture with the two-legged tie slated for March 23-29, 2022.
