Newly appointed South Africa national team coach Hugo Broos has named Helman Mkhalele as his local deputy.
The Belgian tactician upon his appointment made it clear that he will need two assistants with one being a foreigner and the other one a local.
Broos brought on board his long time friend in the person of Macedonian Macedonian gaffer Cedomir Janevski as his first assistant and has now given the nod to Orlando Pirates and Bafana midfielder Helman Mkhalele as his local assistant.
Mkhalele until his appointment on Friday was the head coach of the South Africa Under 20 team and he will step down to take his new role at the senior side.
He was part of the South African team which won the 1996 African Cup of Nations on home soil.
