Bafana Bafana head coach Molefi Ntseki is not happy with the performance of Brighton & Hove Albion winger Percy Tau ahead of the AFCON qualifier with Ghana and Sudan this month.
Tau, who returned from loan at Anderlecht in January this year has only made just two appearances for the “Seagulls” and his form is a big worry to the national team coach going into the qualifiers.
“The last four matches Percy was never played you know,” Ntseki told KickOff
“But I have managed to speak to him and the coaching staff to find out what is actually happening you know. So it’s got nothing to do with Percy’s discipline or commitment, it’s just competition within the team.
“If competition puts him outside, and he’s not training properly, he’s not part of the team all the time, then it means his performance will obviously be affected [when it comes to being selected for Bafana].” He added.
South Africa will host Ghana on March 25th before flying to Omdurman to play Sudan three days later.
South Africa, Ghana and Sudan are all having nine points after four games though the West Africans are on top with superior goal difference.
