Ghana coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor has hailed the qualities of South Africa coach Hugo Broos ahead of the meeting of the two gafers in a 2022 World Cup qualifier on Monday.
The two powerful football nations battle each other at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg for a very important three points.
Akonnor guided Ghana to record a 1-0 win over Ethiopia with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa also drawing against Zimbabwe.
However, the former Ghana captain has lauded the Belgian for his wealth of experience on the African continent.
“Of course, respect and regards to the new Coach, very experienced. He has done it and we all know his qualities. But we are in a different situation, it’s unfortunate my friend lost his job because the team didn’t qualify for the AFCON,” Ghanaian coach CK Akonnor told the media on Sunday.
“But we are here with a different idea and mentality. When we came here, there were a lot of guys who were not in the team, this time we have an improved squad even though we have lost six key players, we will manage it and definitely, we will give some other guys the chance to play.
“They look hungry and ready to show it on the field of play.”
Two heavyweights of African football face off at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Monday as South Africa host Ghana in a huge World Cup 2022 qualifying clash.
The game kicks off at exactly 6pm local time.
