Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has extended his support and encouragement to Asante Kotoko as the club gears up for their participation in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors secured their spot in the continental tournament after clinching the MTN FA Cup title in the recently concluded domestic season. Their Confederation Cup journey is set to kick off in September, with the opening round of matches scheduled between September 19 and 21. Official fixtures are expected to be released in the coming weeks, as clubs across Africa begin preparations.

Kofi Adams, who witnessed Kotoko’s 2-1 victory over Hearts of Oak in the 2025 President’s Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium, took a moment after the match to commend the team and boost their confidence ahead of their international challenge.

“You were outstanding against Hearts of Oak. If you take this same fighting spirit to Africa, no team will be too strong for you,” he told the players. “I encourage you to stay focused and believe in yourselves. You have what it takes to succeed — don’t be afraid.”

With the morale-boosting win in the President’s Cup behind them, Asante Kotoko will now set their sights on further preparation. The team is expected to travel to South Africa soon, where they will face Kaizer Chiefs in the Toyota Cup — a crucial warm-up fixture ahead of their continental campaign.
