The Minister of Youth and Sports(MOYS) Honourable Nii Lante Vanderpuye has assured the national Beach Soccer Team ,the Black Sharks of the ministry’s total support in their quest to achieve success at the 2016 Beach Soccer AFCON tournament.
The Minister made the remarks when the national beach soccer team made up of 16 players and 5 officials paid a courtesy call on him at his office on Thursday.
“I can assure you of our total support in your bid to excel at the tournament. I have already told your management to prepare their budget and let me have it as soon as possible. Whatever we can do as Ministry to help you perform well in Nigeria ,we will do it” Nii Lante averred.
The Black Sharks defeated the Harambee Stars of Kenya by 7 goals to 1 at the Laboma Beach Resort on Sunday to book a place in the 2016 Beach Soccer AFCON on an emphatic 17 – 4 aggregate scoreline. The highest aggregate scoreline in the qualifiers.
The Black Sharks will line up against Africa’s best Beach Soccer sides in the second edition of AFCON Beach Soccer tournament which will take place in Lagos, Nigeria in December.
The team will be hoping to grab one of the two tickets reserved for African teams at the world cup to be hosted in Bahamas in April 2017
