The Ministry of Youth and Sports has dismissed reports of approving a $45,000 a month deal for Milovan Rajevac to take over the vacant Black Stars coaching job.
Per reports, the Serbian is expected to be announced as the new Black Stars head coach in the coming days with German-based coach, Otto Addo also expected to be one of his assistants in his second spell in Ghana.
The Ghana Football Association have been reported to have reached an agreement with the Serbian trainer to pocket a monthly salary of $45,000, ahead of the official announcement.
However, the Sports Ministry, which is responsible for paying coaches, has described such reports as being “untrue and of no basis”
The Ministry published a statement on Thursday evening denying such claims from the media which part of the release reading: “Much as the Ministry is aware of the process of engaging a new coach for the Black Stars by the GFA, the process has not been brought to the attention of the Ministry.”
“We wish therefore to state categorically that the publications that the Ministry has agreed to pay $45,000 for the Coach of the Black Stars are untrue and of no basis.
“It must be noted that the Ministry is awaiting the report of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on the engagement of a new coach.”
