According to the Ghana Football Association, the Ghana Sports Ministry has debunked figures circulating in the Local media of a rise in the bonus of the Black Stars.
After Ghana’s first game on Tuesday against the Cranes of Uganda, reports were rife in the Ghanaian media indicating the winning bonus of the Black stars team has been shot up to $10000 at the group stages, $12000 at the quarter finals and $15000 at the semis.
The Ghana Football Association however says nothing of such has been confirmed by the sports ministry.
In a post on twitter, the GFA squashed the purported increment and stated the team is only focused on winning.
“Retweeted Ghana FA (@ghanafaofficial):
The MOYS debunks figures by a section of the media claiming to be #BlackStars budget for #AFCON2017 . #BlackStars focused only on winning” The GFA said on twitter.
The players before their first game had apparently agreed they’ll accept any amount the state will offer them.
