Bruno Genesio, the coach of Stade Rennais, has acknowledged the possibility of losing young talent Jeremy Doku during the current transfer window.
Rumors circulating within the transfer market suggest that numerous European clubs have expressed interest in securing the services of the Belgian youngster, who also has Ghanaian heritage.
Among the prominent suitors is English Premier League powerhouse Manchester City, actively seeking a successor for Riyad Mahrez.
In an interview with L’Equipe, Stade Rennais manager Bruno Genesio conceded that retaining Jeremy Doku could prove challenging if Manchester City were to submit an offer for the talented attacker.
“Perhaps it won’t be possible, but it’s part of the life of a club like ours to sell young players to prestigious clubs and for important sums. I think we’ve shown that we’re capable of making up for certain departures,” the gaffer said.
Although no formal bid has materialized yet, Jeremy Doku remains part of Stade Rennais and remains committed to contributing to the club’s pursuit of trophies in the forthcoming French football season.
