German-born Ghanaian defender Stephan Ambrosius, has expressed joy after signing a new deal with Hamburg SV.
The 22-year-old central defender has extended his contract with Hamburger SV which will see him stay at the club until June 30, 2024.
Stephan Ambrosius has been offered a four-year contract by Hamburg SV following his impressive display at the club this campaign.
Ambrosius, 22, has signed a fresh deal after his countryman Aaron Opoku, was also handed a similar four-year deal.
“I am very happy that the negotiations have now been brought to a conclusion and that I will stay with HSV It was always my dream to play in the Volksparkstadion. Thanks to the experience I gained, I was able to swap the initial excitement for great joy in the game,” he said.
”I always try to give 100 percent and want to motivate my teammates with it. In the future, I would like to continue my development and play successful football with the team.” an excited Ambrosius added.
Ambrosius was on the pitch in 988 of 1,260 possible minutes in this second division season. The 22-year-old won a total of 65.44% of his duels – the sixth best value in the 2nd Bundesliga.
The lanky centre-back has been a permanent member of HSV’s central defense and was handed a debut invitation to the German U21 national team in 2020.
He, however, remain eligible to feature for Ghana at the senior national level.
