Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan wants Black Stars new coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor to work without any external influences.
The former Sunderland goal-machine is currently unattached and was not part of the first two games of the Black Stars under the leadership of C.K Akonnor.
However, Black Stars all-time leading topscorer reveals he has had talks with the former Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak gaffer to discuss matters around the Black Stars, insisting C.K Akonnor is an honest coach and can lead the team to success.
“We spoke a couple of times when he was first appointed. Of course, as one of the experienced figures in the team we had to share ideas,” he said on an Instagram live.
“He is a straightforward person and I like that about him. He just came and we have to give him some time, He is still building a team.
“He is very honest in his dealings and that’s what I like most about him.
“He should be allowed to do his work without external influence because if not he will have a lot of problems.”
The former Ghana captain recently began his reign as coach of the Black Stars with defeat to Mali and victory over Asian giants Qatar during the recent international break.
