Former Ghanaian midfielder, Derek Boateng has described his playing colleague, Sulley Muntari as the only kind-hearted person he has come across in the Black Stars.
The former Eibar and Levante star noted that Sulley Ali Muntari hates hypocrisy, “Sulley Muntari hates hypocrisy and I feel that’s why he was sabotaged by some of the players in Brazil because he always wants the best for his colleagues. Sulley Ali Muntari was clearly sabotaged by his colleagues in Brazil,” Boateng who is a Scout with Right to Dreams Academy was speaking on Starr FM’s programme Untold Stories.
According to Derek Boateng, Sulley Muntari resisted a move by Black Stars officials to place local players in an economy class and foreign player in business class.
He disclosed that officials always try to cover up with Black Stars camp issues but believes things have changed since 2006.
Boateng further added that luck eluded in Brazil World Cup, “It was sheer luck which eluded us in 2010 Wold cup lost to Uruguay because if we had won that game and mad either into the semi’s the money we could have made would have been huge.”
