Hearts of Oak right back Fatawu Mohammed has jumped to the defense of Sulley Ali Muntari, rubbishing claims that the former Black Stars midfielder is disrespectful and arrogant.
The skipper of the Rainbow family says that though most Ghanaians have branded the Konongo born native as one of the bad boys in the Ghanaian Football fraternity, the sees the former AC C Milan star as not being rude.
The former UEFA Champions League winner has been training with Accra Hearts of Oak in a couple of days to gain fitness even though he is on holidays.
Fatawu Mohammed in an interview with Aseda FM indicated Muntari is a nice person and very down to earth contrary to what people say about him.
“Sulley Muntari is not rude and arrogant as people say. If you are not close to him you will never know him well”
Before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa he (Sulley) was nearly sacked from the Black Stars team after many confrontations with Dede Ayew during training sessions.
He was however sacked from the Black Stars camp in Ghana’s last world Cup in Brazil after engaging in a serious fight with Ghana Football Association member and also owner of Tarkwa based club Medeama Moses Armah Parker.
Sulley Muntari surprisingly dashed all 23 Hearts Of Oak players with a $2300 package for them as a way of motivation.
The Ghanaian remains a free agent since leaving Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna at the end of the 2017/18 liga season.
