Lydia Donkor has revealed that the Ghana Police Service is intensifying efforts to arrest those responsible for the killing of Francis Yaw Frimpong.
According to COP Donkor, the Criminal Investigation Department in Sunyani is actively following credible leads that could soon result in the arrest of suspects connected to the tragic incident.
Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley, was fatally stabbed during a match in the Ghana Premier League last year, an incident that shocked the Ghanaian football community and raised serious concerns about safety at league venues.
“The Sunyani CID is actively pursuing credible leads which could lead to the arrest of anyone involved in this crime,” COP Donkor stated, assuring the public that the police remain committed to ensuring justice for the deceased.
The tragic incident sparked widespread condemnation from football stakeholders, fans, and authorities, with many calling for stricter security measures at stadiums across the country.
