AFC Ajax Amsterdam star Mohammed Kudus has been named as the Foreign Player of the Year for 2021 at the 46th edition of the SWAG Awards on Friday evening.
The combative midfielder saw off competition from Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey and MLS side Columbus Crew captain Jonathan Mensah to win the prestigious award.
Kudus becomes the latest winner of the award to join an impressive list of winners which include legendary striker Asamoah Gyan, Black Stars captain Andre Ayew and his deputy Thomas Partey.
Kudus won the Dutch Eredivisie with giants Ajax and also lifted the KNVB Cup after beating Vitesse Arnhem in the final.
The former FC Nordsjaelland starman was very influential in the Black Stars securing qualification to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and also helped the four-time AFCON champions to book a playoff spot in the next FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
