Ghanaian forward, Jordan Ayew has been crowned the 2019 overall Ghanaian best footballer both home and abroad.
The 29-year-old Ghanaian striker was adjudged the best footballer in Ghana by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana in their 45th awards which was held in Accra on Saturday evening.
The former Ghana Captain Abedi Ayew Pele’s son, Jordan, surpassed the incredible achievement by one of Ghana’s great, Tony Yeboah’s English Premier League long-standing record when he became the Ghanaian with most goals in the English top-flight lasts season.
Jordan has 45 Premiership goals across three clubs namely, Aston Villa, Swansea City AFC and his current Crystal Palace and achieved the feat after playing over 100 games in the English top-flight.
At the end of the 2019-20 season, the Ghanaian forward swooped four awards at the end of the year Crystal Palace awards night.
Undoubtedly Ayew was one of the most promising and exciting players in the Premier League last campaign and his award by SWAG comes as no surprise to the football fans in Ghana.
