The President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, Kwabena Yeboah is optimistic the Black Stars will come perform very well against the Pharaohs of Egypt.
Following the drawn game against Uganda, a lot of people have ruled out Ghana’s chance of picking at least a point against the renaissance Egyptians but the man known in the journalism circles as “The Writer” is adamant the Stars will bring home a good result from Egypt.
“I am naturally an optimistic person so am optimistic we will get a favourable result against the Egyptians. I think we were unfortunate against the Cranes of Uganda but I am confident we will get a good result in spite of the fact that North African teams have a near perfect home record. I think we sometimes tend to underrate the team. I never expected Uganda to come here and get a point but with the right tactics and excellent goalkeeping skills they had a draw. I think we were just unfortunate. If they get the right psyche and convert their chances, they will pick a point”.
Speaking on the matter of the 75,000 supporters that are expected to troop to the stadium for the crunchy encounter, the very revered broadcaster called on the team’s psychologist to work on the psyche of the players though he also believes previous experiences in front of such hostile crowd will make it easier fo the stars to cope with the voiceferous Egyptians who will fill the Alexandria stadium.
” I believe we have a psychologist in the team who will prepare them psychologically for the game. The Stars are also professionals who know very that the Egyptians will be the 12th man on the day so they should be able to cope with it”.
The Stars will square off with their Egyptian counterparts who will be hoping to avenge the 6-1 trashing they receive at the hands of Ghana three years ago.
Kwabena Yeboah asserts that with the right psyche ,right preparations and commitment, the Stars should be able to garner a point at least
