Swansea boss Steve Cooper says Ghanaian international Andre Ayew will miss Sunday’s game with Reading but he is expected to be fit to face Derby Country on May 1.
Ayew sustained a hamstring injury he sustained in the 2-2 draw with Wycombe Wanderers last weekend and was not involved in midweek as his side lost 1-0 to QPR but he is scheduled to be back next Saturday for the game with Derby.
“We’re doing everything we can, and he is doing everything he can to be fit,” Cooper confirmed ahead of Sunday’s encounter.
“It’s likely that he’ll miss the weekend. If he does, he’ll certainly be ready for Derby.”
“We feared that it would be a lot worse than what it actually is. This game has probably come too soon, but we’ll give him every chance.” He added.
Ayew has been Swansea’s best player so far this season netting 15 goals in 41 games as they continue to battle for EPL promotion.
