Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has reaffirmed his ambition to secure more silverware after guiding his side to the semifinals of the MTN FA Cup.
Kotoko earned their spot in the last four with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over lower-tier side True Democracy in the quarterfinals on Sunday, March 30, at the Baba Yara Stadium. Goals from Saaka Dauda and Kwame Opoku secured the win for the Porcupine Warriors.
Speaking after the match, Ogum emphasized his hunger for success and the importance of winning trophies.
“The aim of every coach is to win trophies… the aim of every player is to win trophies so that one day you can be remembered,” he stated.
Looking ahead, Ogum stressed the need for a game-by-game approach, with Kotoko set to face Berekum Chelsea in the semifinals.
“We have to take it game by game. We are going to play against Berekum Chelsea in the semis. We have to now switch our attention to the league. When the time is due, we refocus on that, but I want to tell you we are working harder to make sure we get the results,” he added.
Beyond their FA Cup ambitions, Kotoko also lead the Ghana Premier League standings, keeping them on course for a potential domestic double.
