Injuries have worried several footballers in history and they continue to disturb even the top footballers in the world and Ghana international Thomas Partey is the one who is in a battle against his own health.
On 5 October 2020, Premier League club Arsenal announced the signing of Thomas on a long-term contract, after activating his £45 million (€50 million) release clause with Atlético Madrid making him the most expensive Ghanaian footballer of all time.
Partey started his first match for Arsenal in a 2-1 away win over Rapid Wien in the UEFA Europa League but midway through a match against Aston Villa on 8 November the Ghanaian suffered a thigh injury which saw him miss the rest of the month’s games.
He came back to play some games but would be injured again against the same Villa side on February 2nd this year. Two injuries against the same opponent. What bad luck, Thomas.
“He had a muscular injury so we had to take him off,” said the boss in his post-game press conference. “He could not carry on playing.
He added: “I don’t know [how serious it is. We will see the extent of the injury. He wasn’t feeling well enough to continue playing so we had to take him off.” Arsenal coach said.
Speedy recovery, Thomas.
