Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey looks ready to start against Rapid Vienna in their UEFA Europa League opener on Thursday.
Partey, who joined the English side from Atlético Madrid this summer, made his debut for the club in their 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League last weekend.
Arsenal will travel to Austria to take on Rapid Vienna at the Allianz Stadion in the opening day of the 2020/21 UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
“He reacted really well, he came on and look strong and confident [against Man City] and he added something positive to the team,” Arteta said in his pre-match press conference.
“It was a very short turnaround for him since he joined the team, he had a day, a day-and-a-half only in training. He has done a few more training sessions and he looks ready to start.”
