The Black Satellites held their final training session at Stade Olympique in Nouakchott where the team will play Cameroon in the quarterfinal of the ongoing Total U-20 Nations Cup clash on Thursday.
Ghana’s final Group C game defeat to Gambia on Monday saw the team slip from top of the Group to third but qualified as one of the best third-placed teams in the competition.
The two sides will be battling for a semi-final spot in the crucial game.
Speaking at the pre-match conference on Wednesday ahead of the big match, Ghana coach Abdul Karim Zito said: ”Football has its dos and dont’s and there are factors that affect performance. The weather affected us because we had little time to acclimatize to the weather. But despite all factors we are poised to qualify,”
”Cameroon is a football nation just as we are. Our games are unpredictable. We are going in to win. We will do a lot of amendments to our game and ensure that we win the game.” Karim Zito added.
Commenting on Cameroon’s adaptability to the pitch, Zito said ”It’s still an Astro pitch and they may be comfortable because they have played all their games here but we are here to play football and to secure a win. Mauritania has been here as hosts but they were eliminated.”
The match kicks-off at exactly 4pm local time.
