Tottenham Hotspur have pulled out of the race to sign Ghana and AFC Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo ahead of the January transfer window.
The Black Stars forward is expected to be available when the winter transfer market opens, with reports indicating a £65 million release clause set by Bournemouth for any club interested in signing him.
Spurs were among several clubs that showed strong interest in Semenyo during the summer transfer window and were previously linked with a renewed move in January. However, reports from England suggest the London club has now shifted focus to other transfer targets and is no longer pursuing the 25-year-old forward.
Despite Tottenham stepping away, interest in Semenyo remains high. Premier League giants Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool are all reportedly preparing potential bids for the in-form striker when the window opens.
Although Semenyo has not publicly stated his preferred destination, he is believed to be leaning towards a move to Liverpool. The Reds are currently dealing with attacking challenges after Alexander Isak picked up an injury in their recent win over Tottenham, while Mohamed Salah is away with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Semenyo has been one of Bournemouth’s standout performers this season. He has scored eight goals and provided three assists in 16 Premier League appearances, making him one of the most effective Ghanaian players in Europe this campaign.
His strong performances continue to attract top-level attention as the January transfer window approaches.
