Tottenham Hotspur have completed the permanent signing of Austrian-Ghanaian centre-back Kevin Danso from French club RC Lens in a deal worth €25 million.
The 26-year-old initially joined Spurs on loan during the January transfer window and quickly made an impression with a string of solid performances in the Premier League. Danso featured in 10 league matches and played a key role in Tottenham’s successful Europa League campaign, coming off the bench in their final victory over Manchester United.
With his loan set to expire in June, Tottenham have acted swiftly to activate the purchase option in his contract, securing his services ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Danso is expected to become an integral part of Ange Postecoglou’s defensive setup as the club looks to build on their strong finish to the season.
The versatile defender brings valuable experience from top-flight football across Europe. He has previously played in the Bundesliga with Augsburg and Fortuna Düsseldorf, in Ligue 1 with RC Lens, and had a brief stint in the Premier League with Southampton.
His permanent move to Spurs marks the next chapter in a steadily rising career, and the North London club will be counting on his physical presence, composure, and aerial strength in the heart of their defence moving forward.
