The DR Congo Football Association (FECOFA) has taken a decision to bring the 2019/2020 football season to an end following the outbreak of the deadly Covid-19 virus.
After an executive committee meeting on Wednesday, the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 have been cancelled with immediate effect.
The two leagues had been halted since 16 March 2020 following the rapid widespread of the global pandemic coronavirus in the country.
In effect, TP Mazembe have been declared new champions of the Congolese top-flight taking intoconsideration the league standings as of the time the of suspension.
They were leading the log with 53 points from 20 games followed by bitterest rivals AS Vita Club with 42 points in 21 games in second place after 24 rounds of matches.
The two giants will, however, represent DR Congo in the next CAF Champions League campaign.
Meanwhile, AS Maniema Union and Daring Motema Pembe were placed 3rd and 4th respectively and will be competing in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
