Black Satellites striker Frank Boateng was named Man-Of-The-Match in Ghana’s quarter-final win over Cameroon on Thursday evening.
The Black Satellites defeated the Young Loins of Cameroon for a place in the semi-final of the ongoing AFCON U-20 championship in Mauritania.
Cameroon and Ghana played out a goalless stalemate a the end of the 90 minutes in a very boring game throughout the regulation time.
During extra-time, the Cameroonians struck first through Kevin-Prince Milla scored from a corner kick after he was directly assisted by Etoo three minutes to the end of the first half of the extra time.
Sixty seconds later, Hearts of Oak striker and Ghana captain, Afriyie Barnieh set up substitute Frank Boateng to score the equalizer before the end of the first 15 minutes of extra time.
After a 1-1 stalemate at the end of the extra time, Ghana won the game 4-2 on penalties to book a place in the semi-final of the tournament.
After his goal took the game to penalty shootouts, the young striker also scored during the spot kicks to help Ghana secure a place in the semi-final and was awarded with the MoTM award after the game.
