Ghana’s defensive midfielder, Mustapha Yahaya was in action for Gibraltar side Lincoln Red Imps FC on Tuesday evening against Romanian side CFR Cluj.
The 27-year-old Ghanaian played full throttle for his team as they threw away a goal lead to suffer defeat at home to Cluj in the second qualifying round of the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League.
The home team struck first on the stroke of half time to take a 1-0 lead into the break with their noses in front.
After the break, Yahaya and his team could not hold onto their lead and conceded two goals in the second half to lose 2-1 at home before next week’s return leg in Romania.
Yahaya has played in four matches for the Reds in the league this season as his team lie second on the league table after 10 games with 25 points and three points behind leaders Europa FC.
