Ghanaian defender Abraham Frimpong has landed in Spain with his Ferencvarosi teammates for the UEFA Champions League group opener against giants Barcelona on Tuesday.
Frimpong will be hoping to be handed a starting berth by his coach to face Spanish powerhouse after his outstanding performance over the weekend against Kisvarda in Hungary.
Frimpong has been a stand-out performer for Ferencvarosi who plays in the group stage of the competition for the first in twenty-five years.
The Hungarian champions have been drawn in Group G of the UEFA Champions League, alongside Barcelona, Juventus and Dynamo Kyiv.
“If I’ve played against them – and I hope they give – I might be able to decide. But if I have to choose, I will cast my vote for Messiah,” he told bunteto.com. ahead of the big game.
“In my world life, I pushed for Real Madrid, which is why Ronaldo could be closer to me, but Messi is even more special,” he added.
