Asante Kotoko are set to bolster their defensive ranks with the signing of right-back Victor Oduro, who has successfully completed his medical ahead of a three-year contract, which will be officially signed on Monday.
The 24-year-old defender, who joined Nations FC from Dreams FC at the start of last season, made nine appearances for the Premier League newcomers during the 2024/25 campaign. Despite limited game time, Oduro showed promise with his solid defensive positioning and attacking support on the flanks.
The move to Kotoko will see him reunite with former coach Abdul Karim Zito, under whom he previously thrived. Oduro is expected to provide competition for Lord Amoah at the right-back position, as the Porcupine Warriors look to rebuild their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
He will replace Adrian Adjetey, who was recently released by the club as part of a broader squad reshuffle under head coach Karim Zito.
The signing is part of Kotoko’s ongoing efforts to reinforce key positions following an underwhelming domestic campaign, and the club believes Oduro’s energy and familiarity with Zito’s system will be key to their resurgence.
