Striker Maxwell Abbey Quaye scored a hat-trick to propel Accra Great Olympics FC to a comprehensive and a comfortable win over Accra Lions FC.
The youngster scored in both halves of the match to help his side secure a vital home win to record their first win of the season.
Abbey Quaye scored with a beautiful strike to give the home team a 1-0 lead in the first half as he struck from the left side of the box into the top right corner.
Accra Lions equalized in the second half through a close range header from Richmond Tetteh Ankrah.
Abbey Quaye restored Olympics lead four minutes after the hour mark when he pounced on a goalkeeping error by Appiah Kubi to make it 2-1.
He completed his hat-trick when he converted a spot kick awarded the Blue and Whites outfit four minutes later to make the final score 3-1 to Olympics who secured their first win of the 2021-22 season.
Abbey Quaye becomes the first player to score a hat-trick this season in the domestic league.
