Ghana’s striker, Kwasi Okyere Wriedt responded to his snub by Black Stars coach CK Akonnor by netting his 8th goal of the season in the Dutch Eredivisie on Thursday afternoon at ADO Den Haag.
The Ghanaian international did not only score but also provided an assist which is his second this season to take his total goal contribution to 10 in his first season at Willem II which was largely ravaged by horrible injuries.
Okyere scored his team’s third goal of the match to put them in a commanding 3-0 lead at the interval with a 40th minute strike when his right-footed shot from the center of the box found the bottom left corner.
After the break, the 26-year-old set up Che Nunnely to score the visitors fourth goal on the afternoon two minutes after Michiel Kramer had reduced the deficit for the home team.
The match ended 4-1 to Willem II who are now one point above the relegation playoff spot.
Kwasi Okyere, a former Bayern München striker has scored eight goals and has two assists in the Dutch top-flight this season.
