Ghana’s Black Stars striker Joel Fameyeh responded to his Black Stars call-up with a goal and an assist in FC Orenburg’s slim win over Veles Moscow at home.
The 24-year-old former Dinamo Brest marksman played full throttle for his team as they held onto their 2-1 first half lead to win and go third on the league table.
Twelve minutes after Kickoff, Fameyeh broke the deadlock of the match with a beautiful strike to give the Blue and Whites a 1-0 lead inside the first quarter of the game.
On the 28th minute mark, he also set up Renato Gojkovic to score the second goal for his side inside half an hour mark.
Daniil Lopatin reduced the deficit to one for the visitors on the 43rd minute of the game and the game failed to produce another goal despite the entertainment in the second half.
FC Orenburg won 2-1 at home to Veles Moscow.
The Ghanaian international has four goals and two assists in the Russian First National League this season in six matches.
