Ghana Premier League side, Medeama SC were denied a clear and obvious call for a penalty against the home team Ashantigold SC in Obuasi on Sunday afternoon.
Center referee, Mohammed Misbadu blatantly denied the Yellow and Mauves a clear penalty call inside the second after Godfred Abban’s cross was headed towards goal only for defender Empem Dacosta to handle the ball in the goal area with his left arm.
Surprisingly, referee Mohammed Misbadu who was close to the action when the incident happened in the box decided not to award the visitors a well-deserved spot-kick as he waved play to continue.
The Miners before the game had won three consecutive games at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi but failed to make it four wins in a role at their fortress this campaign.
This is not the first time this season a referee’s call or decision have had a negative effect in a game involving Medeama SC as they were correctly denied a perfect goal against Accra Great Olympics in their one-all draw in Tarkwa.
The game between Ashantigold and Medeama SC ended a goalless but the visitors could have become the first team to pick a win against the Yellow and Blacks this campaign in the Ghana Premier League at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
The Yellow and Mauves, SC Medeama, have picked five points from five away matches in the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season so far with two defeats, two draws and one win against Ebusua Dwarfs in Cape Coast.
