Ghanaian forward, Raphael Dwamena was on target for his new club Velje Boldklub in the Danish Superligaen on Monday.
The 25-year-old year netted one of his side’s two goals in their 2-4 away defeat in their season opener at AGF Aarhus.
Patrick Montensen and Frederik Tingager powered the host to a 2-0 first-half lead on the 9th and 17th minutes respectively.
Jon Thorsteinsson added the third goal inside 58 minutes to put the host in a driving seat and cruising to an emphatic win with 30 minutes left.
The Ghana International striker in the 71st minutes of the match scored his first goal of the season to reduce the deficit to two for the visitors.
Juhani Ojala scored again for the away team five minutes from full time to set up a grand style finish to the game.
Benjamin Hvidt dented the visitors’ spirit as he grabbed the fourth goal to help Aarhus to a 4-2 win when Velje looked more likely to score the third to pick a point on the road.
The Black Stars attacker has a goal in his first league game for the newly-promoted side but wasn’t enough to save them from defeat on the opening day of the 2020-21 campaign in the Danish top-flight.
